OUR SOCIAL IMPACT: CASE #1
The Issue
An educationally sub-normal graduate of a special needs school joined the workforce, only to be branded a failure. All because he could not fit in with others.
GAT's Solution
One-on-one therapy and vocational rehabilitation at GAT.
Tangible Outcome
Within a year with our professional Art Therapist & Counselor, this once self-doubting individual has developed in self-esteem, social skills and competence in artwork. He has taken on a leadership role, earning the trust and respect of his peers who willingly take instructions from him.
Potential for Our Contribution to Society
Offer opportunities for this young man to play the role of mentor and impart his technical competence in artwork to mainstream youth & kids. This presents golden moments to close the gap of inequality.
OUR SOCIAL IMPACT: CASE #2
The Issue
A disadvantaged woman would be in dire straits if not for a crisis shelter that came to her rescue. Beyond a temporary roof over her head and three meals a day, she needs to let go of her past experience, re-gain her self esteem and move on.
GAT's Solution
Partnered with the crisis shelter to tab on this disadvantaged woman's skills and which offered her opportunities to do those tasks requiring higher-level skills.
Tangible Outcome
Opportunities to learn and earn an income and informal consultation with our professional counselor motivated this individual to stretch and grow her capabilities. She demonstrated such good attitude and outstanding workmanship that she became the shelter supervisor's reliable right-hand person.
Potential for Our Contribution to Society
So inspired is she with GAT's vision and benefits to individuals like her that she is planning, upon her return to the mainstream, to setup a similar social enterprise, offering similar services to the poor in her hometown.
