WHAT DOES GAT DO?

GAT Soul
All Gifts sold by GAT are handcrafted mementoes or pieces of art and handicrafts professionally produced by our less fortunate in society.

GAT Mementoes
The common little gifts used today to mark an occasion. GAT hopes to move beyond the intrinsic value of the Gift, the trivialization that plagues such gifts, towards receiving the real intent of the handmade Gift – the SOUL of the Gift.

GAT Arts
Enshrining the artists’ labour of love, and bringing out the true beauty that lies within the painstaking work. For example a hand designed batik from Indonesia or a hand stitched Brac piece from Bangladesh.

WHO IS GAT?

Organisation
We are a social enterprise that believes that the realm of social advancement for the less fortunate can co-exist with one built on a business foundation. Making profits are the only prerogative of most business organizations today but GAT is different.

GAT was set up with the intent of making profits with a social mission, moving beyond just making dollars and cents, but making sense of the bigger picture of the world and people around us that make up this humanity.

Focus
In short we hope to revolutionalise the business landscape, and enlighten the business world that moving beyond profits, towards providing equitable employment, distribution and development of our less fortunate brethren is our responsibility and passion.

Commandments
a. Social Mission – All primary goods/services that we market must be produced by the impoverished, disabled and disadvantaged from Singapore and the world.

b. Promise – We ensure that all goods/services that we sell are handcrafted and meet the our customers expectations in terms of quality and timeliness in delivery.

c. Charity – 20% of all our annualized net profits before tax will be donated back to charity, or go into a fund for the purpose of setting up a charitable foundation for the skills training of our special supply partners.
